Infrared Spectroscopy

The ability to detect a tumor earlier, when it is smaller, reduces the impact of surgery and treatment, improving the prognosis for many patients. Dxcover has developed a new spectroscopic liquid biopsy approach that is able to identify brain tumors as small as 0.2 cm³from a blood sample in as little as fifteen minutes.

We spoke to Geoff Winkett and Michel van den Berge from Agilent, about the issues posed by microplastics analyses and how molecular spectroscopy is rising to the challenge.

Microplastic ocean pollution is gradually receiving more attention but there is still so much that we don’t know. eXXpedition, a not-for-profit all-female team, are hoping to address some of these questions.
