Editorial Director

Technology Networks, part of LabX Media Group, is looking for an Editorial Director. As the Editorial Director of Technology Networks, you will be tasked with driving and increasing website traffic and audience engagement through overseeing the creation of exceptional, highly relevant editorial content; developing content strategies to grow and develop the audience and subscriber database; continue to elevate the Technology Networks brand within the scientific industries they serve; work closely with the sales team to ensure editorial strategy continues to support revenue generation efforts and growth; and much more.

Responsibilities:

Lead the editorial mission of the brand to drive the creation of high-quality, engaging content that is highly relevant to our readers and target audience.
Use analytics to measure the success of editorial content and to make decisions and recommendations for how to target, develop and grow our audience.
Create strategies that deliver website traffic across all acquisition channels.
Foster and drive innovation within the team to deliver content that continues to meet the goals of the business.
Stay abreast of trends in the scientific industries we serve.
Work alongside the managing editor and sales team to develop and deliver the editorial calendar.
Work closely with the sales director to ensure the topics covered and content created meet clients’ needs

Support our sales teams and engage with their clients to enhance the sales approach.
Work with stakeholders and internal experts to develop SEO to ensure growth of organic traffic.
Understand how social media can be utilized to engage with and grow our audience
Work with Product Development and IT to deliver updates to Technology Networks’ portfolio that drive revenue growth.
Help optimize the performance of newsletters and other email communications.
Oversee Technology Networks’ dedicated cannabis publication, Analytical Cannabis
Oversee the Custom Content Creation team
Write, present, deliver content as appropriate across multiple channels.
Manage editorial budgets.
Engage our audience and earn trust as an ambassador for the brand.
Raise the profile of the brand through active engagement of peer associations and related groups.
Support the creation of marketing materials such as media kits
Attend industry events and represent the Technology Networks brand.
Provide coaching and mentorship to editorial staff.
Support the career advancement of our editorial staff

Requirements:

Degree in a science discipline; PhD preferred
7+ years of experience in a similar capacity/role
Experience managing and coaching an editorial team.
Ability to analyze external trends and internal developments and translate those to content opportunities.
Proven ability to drive strategy and execution of large and complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
A proactive, creative approach and positive mindset that favors innovation and continuous improvement.
Demonstratable track record of using editorial and content creation to support the sales process.
